December 3rd, 2020 – The Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC) is thrilled to announce its upcoming “ANHC 12 Days of Christmas,” a virtual holiday extravaganza created to spread joy and foster a spirit of community and healing during this socially-distanced holiday season.

From Facebook Live dance performances to daily door buster giveaways, ANHC has an action-packed schedule for the extravaganza’s run from December 7th-18th. However, the spotlight will be centered on Alaska Native artists from all across our state.

“ANHC’s 12 Days of Christmas extravaganza was born out of a desire to uplift our talented and essential artists, many of whom have been impacted by COVID-19” said Emily Edenshaw, ANHC Executive Director. “ANHC’s campaign is one way we are giving back to a community that has done so much for us.”

Each day throughout the event, ANHC will highlight one Alaska Native artist and drive traffic to their individual selling platforms. The featured artists represent 12 diverse cultural groups, regions, and art-making styles within Alaska. Our first featured artist is Sophia Stevens (Hän Gwich’in Athabascan) who sells beaded necklaces, earrings and caribou antler chimes. Other artists will be announced throughout the duration of the campaign.

In addition to the 12 artists featured throughout the extravaganza, ANHC is also launching a new permanent place on our website to feature Alaska Native Artists. We encourage shoppers to keep checking back as the list of artists featured on our website continues to grow.

Throughout the promotion, ANHC Facebook and Instagram followers will also have a chance to WIN one of 12 Holiday Boxes with curated collections from our featured artists. One will be given away to a lucky follower each day courtesy of the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

ANHC is temporarily closed to the public from February 2024 – May 2024 for renovations to ANHC’s facility.
