Suicide Prevention Subsistence Camp

September 20, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - September 24, 2021 @ 8:00 pm

Save the date:
The Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC) is hosting a Suicide Prevention Subsistence Camp, September 19-20, from 4 to 8 p.m., to meet the needs of our community. This event is a community-based, substance-free social event.
Through keynote speakers, group wellness activities, and subsistence workshops with Culture Bearers like Charlie Pardue (Athabascan), ANHC’s Suicide Prevention Subsistence Camp will build life skills, foster community healing, and create awareness surrounding suicide and statistics from a cultural perspective.
This event is fully inclusive, and we invite everyone to attend, including suicide-attempt survivors and family members of those who were lost to suicide. All ages and cultural backgrounds are welcome.
We look forward to sharing more information about this event in the coming weeks. Haw’aa to the Administration for Native Americans’ ILEAD grant and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Unguwat Grant for making this event possible.
Reserve your spot here!

ANHC is temporarily closed to the public from February 2024 – May 2024 for renovations to ANHC’s facility.
