Uvaġnaġraq – Spring

Uvaġnaġraq is a powerful season of the new year
the sun shines high in the sky, the snow turns
to ice, the color of the snow is bright white.

It is very sunny.
Uvaġnaġraq brings with it seasonal birds.
The qugruk swan, tatigzraq sandhill crane
and the liġliq Canadian geese arrive to feast on the
newly uncovered tundra and to make nests.

The aġviq arrives the waters come alive
once again after the long winter.

Uvaġnaġraq is time to stretch out
the ugruk bearded seal hide
it will become bleached in the
uvaġnaġraq
Spring

Let us say silagiktuq
It is nice out.
