The Alaska Native Heritage Center has experienced success and positive growth over the years, and we appreciate your belief in our mission.
Through your support, you are helping the Alaskan Native Heritage Center expand and sustain its educational and cultural programs.
Our mission is to preserve and strengthen the traditions, languages, and art of Alaska’s Native People through statewide collaboration, celebration, and education.
Over the years, ANHC has developed groundbreaking programs that impact young people through programs like our national award-winning after-high-school program, at-risk middle school program, summer internship, and most recently a program expansion to serve an even more at risk population of Alaska Native youth in MacLaughlin, Save and Benny Benson Centers.
2019 is a very important year for ANHC, it marks our 20th year of operations and gives us a moment to reflect on our many successes. In our 20th year, we must imagine a future where Alaska Native languages, traditions, and values are thriving for another 10,000 years.
The Center is embarking on an aggressive, mission-driven, programmatic and artistic plan centered on our traditional Alaska Native values. We are designing programs in strands that strengthen our commitment to:
- Artistic Practice & Training
- Alaska Native Languages
- Living Exhibitions
- Festivals & Performance
- Social & Physical Health
- Advocacy on a policy level for Alaska Native languages, traditions, and values.
To sustain and develop these valuable programs, ongoing support from people like you is essential. To become a member, visit here to see the contribution levels.
