The Alaska Native Heritage Center Gift Shop will now be known as Ch’k’iqadi Gallery!
Ch’k’iqadi is a Dena’ina Athabascan term for “Things We Buy.” From gifts for the kids to high end collectible Alaska Native Arts, it is a place for our guests to find wonderful authentic Alaska Native gifts and treasures to take home as visual reminders of their Visit. Be on the lookout for more details about our Grand Reopening soon!
At the Coho Cup café, you can get coffee for a cause! Fueled by Alaska’s People apprentices, the Coho Cup serves as a training ground for our future barista workforce.
Operating for more than a decade, the Coho Cup is a café-style coffee shop employing new CITC program participants and those poised to re-enter the work force in the community.
Participants develop a good work ethic and receive job-readiness training, including customer service skills, and how to operate an espresso machine and a cash register, among others.
By providing basic job-skills training, Coho Cup helps employees evolve into better paying jobs, while developing values associated with hard work and self-sufficiency.
