ANHC Received a $50,000 Gift from the Rockefeller Foundation

The Rockefeller Foundation

The Alaska Native Heritage Center is thrilled to announce a generous gift of $50,000 from the Rockefeller Foundation. This support will play a crucial role in furthering the organization’s mission of preserving and strengthening the traditions, languages, and art of Alaska Native peoples.

The funds will support ANHC’s groundbreaking research into the history and impacts of government and church run boarding schools and the implementation of programs focused on Cultural Tourism workforce development, programming for vulnerable community members, and academic support throughout Alaska.

The contribution from the Rockefeller Foundation is a significant step towards strengthening partnerships with philanthropy and ensuring that Alaska Native communities have the resources they need to maintain and learn their cultural heritage. The ANHC team expresses their heartfelt gratitude for this incredible support.

ANHC is temporarily closed to the public from February 2024 – May 2024 for renovations to ANHC’s facility.
