ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC) announces its transition to the winter season for self-guided tours beginning September 15, 2025, through May 9, 2026. During this period, ANHC and the Ch’k’iqadi Gallery will be open Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM (except on select dates) *. Please note that Café Di’eshchin will be closed at the ANHC location for the winter season.

Visitors are invited to:

  • Stroll through life-sized Village Sites

  • Explore new exhibitions in the Hall of Cultures

  • Shop authentic art at the Ch’k’iqadi Gallery

  • Learn from and support Alaska Native artists, who are often onsite at ANHC sharing and selling their work.

Instead of standard admission fees, ANHC invites guests to make a suggested donation of $15.00 during the winter season. Contributions directly support ANHC’s year-round statewide cultural programming, including Master Artist classes, youth internships, apprenticeships, artist engagements, groundbreaking research, and ANHC’s campus expansion efforts.

“This year’s summer season set new records for admissions at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, a testament to the dedication of our team, the enthusiasm for cultural tourism from visitors to Alaska, and the ongoing support from our tourism partners,” said Kelsey Ciugun Wallace, Interim President & CEO. “Every ticket purchased directly supports our mission to preserve and strengthen the traditions, languages, and arts of Alaska’s Native Peoples. We are grateful to all who contributed to our summer’s success and look forward to welcoming guests throughout the winter season while continuing to create opportunities to come together as a community.”

ANHC’s 2026 summer season will begin on May 9, 2026, with the annual Mother’s Day Celebration and Opening of Summer Season event, offering free admission for all visitors. For the latest updates on hours and programming, please visit alaskanative.net or call 907-330-8000.
