Join us for a free five-day workshop from May 11-15, 2026, to learn how to create a Łingít Vest with Łingít artist Maria Shaa Tláa Williams. Sessions will be held each day from 5:30PM to 8:30PM at the Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC). This workshop is made possible with support from the Maxwell Hanrahan Foundation.

To apply for this workshop, participants must complete the  application form.  Applications must be submitted no later than Monday, May 4, 2026, at 12PM to be considered for the class. Applicants must agree to attend the full duration of the workshop.

All applicants will receive an email by Monday, May 4, 2026, 2026, at 5PM notifying them whether they have been accepted to participate. Only those who receive acceptance emails may attend the workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions

If an accepted participant cancels their registration, they will be ineligible to participate in the next two workshops at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Multiple cancellations or no-shows may result in extended ineligibility for future workshops. This policy helps ensure committed attendance and fairness for others wishing to join future events.

Łingít, Xaadas, Ts’msyen, and dAXunhyuu people are given priority for participation in this workshop, along with individuals who have not participated in a workshop in the last 3–6 months 

Participants are expected to arrive on time. If you're 15 minutes or more late, entry may be restricted to minimize disruption, and your seat may be filled from the waitlist. 

Participants must be at least 16 years old to register for this workshop.
