The Alaska Native Heritage Center dedicates its Veterans Healing Monument, the second of ten monuments planned for the Community Healing Garden under the Ngíisdla project a name from Xaad kil (Haida) meaning "to heal, recover, and get well again." The monument was requested by community members and shaped over roughly two years of engagement sessions with Alaska Native veterans, who described it as a place to go to reflect, to heal, and to hold their own ceremony.
