Theater Renovation Press Release

Visitor Notice: Temporary Closure of Theater & Crossroads

The Theater and Crossroads areas are temporarily closed for renovation as part of Phase Two of ANHC's $25M Capital Campaign. Construction began February 2, 2026, and is expected to finish mid-March.

Important info:

  • The Alaska Native Heritage Center will remain open for most of the construction period, besides a brief closure from Feb 2–4, 2026.
  • The Ch’k’iqadi Gallery is open with normal business hours, Mon–Fri from 9AM to 5PM.
  • Visitors should enter through the main entrance and proceed to the outdoor deck by Café Di’eshchin. From there, guests will follow the building’s exterior to access the Village Sites and enter the Hall of Cultures through the outdoor entrance near the Mabel Pike Education Center.
  • Program participants for classes and other offerings should inquire with their point of contact within the organization for any location changes.
