The Alaska Native Heritage Center is located at 8800 Heritage Center Drive, Anchorage, AK 99504. To get here, you have several convenient options:

  1. Free Shuttle: From June 1 to September 14, 2025, the Alaska Native Heritage Center operates a FREE round-trip shuttle service from downtown Anchorage to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. The downtown shuttle pick-up location is the Log Cabin Visitor Info Center, located at 546 West 4th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99501. Please note that pick-up times may vary depending on availability. Click here to view the shuttle schedule.
  2. Driving: From downtown Anchorage, take the Glenn Highway north and exit at North Muldoon Road. Drive east on Tudor Road, which becomes Muldoon Road. Continue driving straight over the Glenn Highway and then take the first right onto Golden Bear Drive. Take a quick right onto Heritage Center Drive and keep driving along the tree-lined road until you reach our parking lot, where we have ample parking including reserved parking for Elders.
  3. Taxi/Rideshare: Call the Alaska Yellow Dispatch or a rideshare option. The ride from downtown Anchorage takes about 10 minutes. Provide the exact address to rideshare drivers so that the apps do not misdirect to a nearby Air Force base. Alaska Yellow Dispatch and Lyft both pick up and drop off riders to the Alaska Native Heritage Center; Uber will only drop off, not pick up.
  4. Bus: You can take a roughly 20-minute bus ride from the  Downtown Transit Center to stops near the Alaska Native Heritage Center: Muldoon & Zuckert or Muldoon & Heritage Ctr. You would then need to walk about twenty minutes down Heritage Center Drive to get to the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

From June 1 to September 14, 2025, the Alaska Native Heritage Center operates a FREE round-trip shuttle service from downtown Anchorage to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. The downtown shuttle pick-up location is the Log Cabin Visitor Info Center, located at 546 West 4th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99501. Please note that pick-up times may vary depending on availability. Click here to view the shuttle schedule.

The Hall of Cultures features unique exhibits where visitors can learn about Alaska Native peoples through dynamic media and cultural objects. The Identity Galleries housed within the Hall of Cultures help visitors understand the diversity and beauty of the complex composition of Alaska Native cultural identities and several complementary exhibits present contemporary art and important historical stories from the community. We invite you to explore the rich traditions of Alaska Native peoples that have been practiced for over 10,000 years.

New exhibitions will be unveiled in the Hall of Cultures on our summer season opening day, Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Named after the Dena’ina Athabascan word for “I’m Hungry,” Café Di’eshchin features an assortment of menu items including coffee, sweet treats, and more! Menu items are subject to change. The Café is located outdoors on our deck, where there is plenty of comfortable seating available to enjoy a snack in the sunshine. During the summer season, Café Di’eshchin is open 7 days a week from 9AM to 5PM. It is closed during the winter season.

No food or drink is allowed in the Hall of Cultures.
